A fresh start after the holidays<\/h2>\n\n

After the Easter holidays, the children started the last months of the school year in early April with renewed energy. Just as nature comes alive in spring, we too were able to gather many enriching experiences in everyday school life and take further steps in our development. <\/p>\n\n

<\/div>\n\n

Baptism of a former student<\/h2>\n\n

Even before the Easter holidays, we had the special pleasure of attending the baptism of a student who completed 4th grade at Stella School last year. The celebration took place in the church in Bergheim and was marked by great warmth and a festive atmosphere. In addition to the family, some students, parents, and teachers from Stella School also attended. <\/p>\n\n

Trip to the farm<\/h2>\n\n

The highlight for the second grade right after Easter was a visit to Viktoria\u2019s farm. Even the journey there\u2014two buses and a train\u2014was an exciting experience. <\/p>\n\n

At the farm, Mrs. Hauser showed us around: the cows, a funny goat, and lots of spring flowers. Afterwards, the children were allowed to help make butter and enjoyed delicious bread with butter and chives. Along the way, the children also learned many new words in English. <\/p>\n\n

The highlight after Easter for our second graders was a morning at Viktoria’s farm. The trip itself was quite exciting \u2014 we had to switch buses and take a train. At the farm, Mrs. Hauser showed us the barn, the cows, many spring flowers, and a very hilarious goat. After that, the children helped make \u2014 or should we say shake \u2014 butter. Spreading it on a fresh piece of bread with some chives was a culinary delight for everybody. <\/em><\/p>\n\n

Musical instruments from nature<\/h2>\n\n

As part of a forest day, natural materials were creatively turned into musical instruments. With great enthusiasm, the children used them to accompany the song “If You’re Happy and You Know It” and experimented with different sounds and rhythms. <\/p>\n\n

In crafts class, the children are already busy preparing for Mother\u2019s Day and are working on their felt projects with great care and perseverance. In maths and German, work continues with focus\u2014commitment and learning progress, especially among the children in 1st grade, are clearly visible. <\/p>\n\n

In English class, the topic of clothing (“clothes”<\/em>) is currently the focus. On a so-called “Mismatch Day”, the children were allowed to come to school in deliberately colourful, mismatched outfits instead of their school uniform\u2014a great opportunity to describe one another in English and practise what they have learned in a playful way. <\/p>\n\n

With our first graders we were able to learn about clothes in English. On “Mismatch Day” we played some fun games describing one another. <\/em><\/p>\n\n

Grandparents\u2019 Day \u2013 a cherished tradition<\/h2>\n\n

A very special highlight again this year was Grandparents\u2019 Day. Once a year, grandparents are invited to the school to spend a few hours experiencing everyday school life together with their grandchildren. <\/p>\n\n

To kick things off, all students presented a varied programme of poems, songs, and musical pieces. In 1st grade<\/strong>, two grandmothers read a story to the children. A particularly popular activity was a quiz where childhood photos of the grandparents were shown\u2014and everyone had to guess who belonged to whom. Grandparents from Tyrol even joined via video call, and some children had great-grandparents visiting as well. <\/p>\n\n

The 2nd grade<\/strong> put on an entertaining family game: first, the children answered questions about themselves; then family members had to guess which answers belonged to their child\u2014and vice versa. The family with the most correct matches was presented with the “Great Family Award”. <\/p>\n\n

In 3rd and 4th grade<\/strong>, children and grandparents decorated flower pots together, painting them with lots of creativity.<\/p>\n\n

The feedback was consistently very positive. It was impressive to see how proud grandparents and grandchildren are of one another. We will continue this lovely tradition next year as well. <\/p>\n\n
