Ice skating at the ice arena<\/h2>\n\n

A special highlight in February was our joint trip to the ice arena for ice skating. <\/p>\n\n

The children had great fun on the ice, and with lots of laughter, this trip was a wonderful shared experience.<\/p>\n\n

Carnival at school: colourful costumes and lots of joy<\/h2>\n\n

Of course, fun at school couldn\u2019t be missed either. Our carnival celebration was a complete success: the children came in imaginative costumes, played fun games and enjoyed delicious doughnuts. <\/p>\n\n

The cheerful atmosphere made this day a special experience for everyone.<\/p>\n\n

Creative quiet-time exercise with music<\/h2>\n\n

In a quiet-time exercise, the children created a spring picture to calm music. Afterwards, we talked together about the changes that spring brings. <\/p>\n\n

The children shared what they associate with spring \u2013 flowers, sunshine, Easter, bright colours and joy.<\/p>\n\n

Geometric solids and nets<\/h2>\n\n

In the 3rd and 4th grade, we spent a whole morning working intensively with geometric solids and nets. There was lots of folding, trying things out and discovering. <\/p>\n\n

<\/div>\n\n

Project \u201cThe Reading Caterpillar\u201d<\/h2>\n\n

With our new reading project \u201cThe Reading Caterpillar\u201d, the children practise reading every day. Each day they read to their parents at home for about ten minutes. <\/p>\n\n

This project motivates the children a lot, and it\u2019s wonderful to see the progress the first-graders are making in reading.<\/p>\n\n

Play and forest time<\/h2>\n\n

Alongside learning, there is also plenty of time for play and movement. The children especially enjoy the time outdoors together \u2013 playing or in the forest. <\/p>\n\n

They can let off steam, discover nature and grow together as a group.<\/p>\n\n

Collaborative artwork inspired by Kandinsky<\/h2>\n\n

A great joy for the children in 2nd grade was the visit from a former teacher. Together we created a collaborative artwork inspired by the artist Wassily Kandinsky. The children were able to experiment with shapes and colours and let their creativity run free. <\/p>\n\n

Designing their own Easter candles<\/h2>\n\n

The children of the 3rd and 4th grade were allowed to design their own Easter candle with wax in preparation for Easter. The candles really are something to behold! <\/p>\n\n

Ash Wednesday: meaning and ashes cross<\/h2>\n\n

On Ash Wednesday, the visiting chaplain from the Maxglan church came to see us and gave the children the ashes cross. Beforehand, he explained very clearly and in a child-friendly way the meaning of this day and why the ashes cross is given. The children listened attentively and experienced this celebration very consciously. <\/p>\n\n

At the parents\u2019 caf\u00e9, the topic was: \u201cAccepting my child as they are.\u201d A few mothers also attended whose children will start school next year. We are very pleased about the great interest. <\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

On a Saturday, the teaching staff took part in a professional development session on \u201cLeader in Me\u201d with Dr Heidi Burkhart. On this training day, we first reviewed Habits 1\u20133 and then went into Habits 4\u20137 in more depth. It became clear how important it is not only to teach these contents to the children, but also to live them and model them ourselves in everyday school life. <\/p>\n\n

The training offered us a great opportunity to come together even more closely as a team. Among other things, we learned how to address \u201cdormant\u201d problems openly and find constructive solutions together. <\/p>\n\n

Many new and enriching ideas emerged \u2013 the day was a real enrichment for all of us. During our shared lunch, we also held a cheerful pancake party to celebrate the presenter\u2019s birthday. We really enjoyed this special day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
