A motivated start to the new year<\/h2>\n\n

The first meeting after the Christmas holidays was full of joy and many happy faces. All the children started the new year highly motivated.<\/p>\n\n

In January, we were lucky enough to experience a lot of snow in the city as well. The children in the 1st grade had great fun building snowmen and romping around in the snow.The weekly forest days were also full of joy and exciting discoveries. The little detectives found the “prickly dress” of a hedgehog, which was examined with great fascination.<\/p>\n\n

Learning in the 2nd grade<\/h2>\n\n

In the 2nd grade, numerous new contents were developed and practiced.\u2022 Workshop: Weaving with paper and wool\u2022 German: Short and long vowels as well as double consonants, combined with a creative writing exercise\u2022 Mathematics: Review of area shapes in English as well as exercises for measuring with centimeters<\/p>\n\n

In religious education, the 2nd grade got to know the liturgical colors and the festivals in the church year. The new topic is the Holy Mass.With the help of miniature objects, the objects of the altar were clearly explained to the children. To match this, we visited the church and the sacristy to see everything directly on site.<\/p>\n\n

Weather Project \u2013 bilingual & international<\/h2>\n\n

In the bilingual 2nd grade, we dealt intensively with the topic of weather. In German and English, the children learned to formulate weather descriptions.As part of our Weather Project, each child chose a city in the world and documented the weather for one week, which was then presented to the class. It was exciting to see how different the weather is worldwide.<\/p>\n\n

In the second grade, we explored different weather conditions. The children learned how to describe the weather in English and German and created their own weather charts. Each child chose a city somewhere in the world and recorded the weather for one week. It was especially interesting to compare weather differences between the Northern and Southern Hemisphere.<\/p>\n\n

A special highlight: Scotland visits<\/h2>\n\n

A highlight of the month for the 1st and 2nd grade was the visit of a real Scottish woman. Together we danced and learned a traditional Scottish dance.We also learned exciting things about Scotland and were allowed to try delicious shortbread fingers \u2013 yummy!<\/p>\n\n

Another highlight for the first and second grade was our guest Valerie from Scotland. She taught us about her home country and showed us how to dance a traditional Scottish dance. It was so much fun \u2013 and the shortbread fingers were delicious!<\/p>\n\n

Religion in the 3. & 4th grade<\/h2>\n\n

The 3rd and 4th grades dealt with the topic “Jesus was born as a Jew.”In a station operation and a quiz, the students followed the traces of Judaism and learned, among other things, about the synagogue, the Sabbath, the kippah, the menorah, the Star of David, the Tenach, the Torah scroll, the Shema Yisrael, as well as the Hebrew language and script.<\/p>\n\n

As part of the afternoon care, a new musical offer started: piano or violin lessons. This is carried out by a school mother, Mrs. Kaiser, and is very popular.<\/p>\n\n

Other activities were:\u2022 Developing a dance choreography by a girls’ group\u2022 Jointly tidying up the crib and Christmas decorations<\/p>\n\n

Also for the parents, some enriching online meetings took place in January, designed by Mag. Christina Schmidt.As part of the parents’ caf\u00e9, the lecture “When children cannot do without” was offered, followed by the lecture “Strengthening resilience in children” in the parents’ academy.<\/p>\n\n

At this point, we would like to thank you for the many positive feedbacks. We are happy to strengthen families through these offers and accompany them in their growth.<\/p>\n\n

“I wanted to tell you how much our son Tamino likes to attend the Stella School and with what pride he wears his school clothes. He loves his uniform very much. When he was allowed to visit his little brother in the hospital for the first time, he absolutely wanted to do this in his Stella clothes. Even when we go to his grandparents in Tyrol on the weekend, he puts on his uniform because he thinks it’s so ‘cool’.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n
